This is just a beacon page that Dr. Hines set up to help get you to his Pet Health Articles.
If you want to read any of the articles that Dr. Hines wrote for you in their unedited form go here.
He set up this page is to help you navigate through the clutter of shady internet sites that use his name, “according to Ron Hines” or “submitted” by Ron Hines with older or obsolete copies of his articles that they purloined and downloaded from his website at one time or another without his permission.
None of those folks have his blessing. None of them make corrections when he updates his articles. And none of them can be trusted. When you see his articles or his name appear where it doesn’t belong, that should be warning enough to not purchase a product or service through any links from that site.
The rest of this page is a poem by Leigh Hunt that Dr. Hines likes. James Henry Leigh Hunt
was the son of a Loyalist Quaker pastor who was forced to flee to England
subsequent to the Revolutionary War. He wrote this poem there in about 1838.
For generations, school children in America memorized this poem, along with the
the Gettysburg Address. It was the inspiration for Shriner’s Hospital
Isac Asamov, when asked why Abu’s name led all the rest
responded that God files his souls in alphabetical order. For that he was taken
to the principal’s office for punishment !
Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An Angel writing in a book of gold:
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said,
“What writest thou?” The Vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord
Answered, “The names of those who love the Lord.”
“And is mine one?” said Abou. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the Angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerily still; and said, “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one who loves his fellow men.”
The Angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And, lo! Ben Adhem’s name led all the rest!
